Happy 4th of July! To celebrate the 249th birthday of our county I'm highlighting two of my earlier posts. One is about members of the Cooksey family who lived in Trinity Parish and supported the Continental Army through their agricultural efforts. The other is about Patrick Graham, the traitorous tailor of Port Tobacco, who flaunted the 1774 articles of association and got in big trouble for defying them. Even during the Revolutionary War not all Americans agreed on what form of government we should adopt, or who we should be as a nation.
Enjoy these posts and I hope you all had great picnics, fireworks, and family time, or at least a quiet day at home to reflect on the meaning of today's holiday
